URDT Epicenters, Uganda
Established in Uganda in 1985, URDT is a civil society organization empowering marginalized people in rural communities through training young people to be catalysts for change. URDT has a number of institutions and strategies designed to facilitate human and community change.
The Epicenter Strategy works with local government to deploy resident Rural Transformation Specialists (graduates of URDT’s African Rural University) in the communities. The community-based Epicenter is a place where people come together to learn, discuss concepts, share ideas and generate energy for focused action.
